Meet the Instructor:

Kathy Zarsky Biomimicry TX



Kathy Zarsky

Founder of BiomimicryTX

Kathy is the Director of HOLOS, a sustainability consultancy whose core tenet is systems thinking and collective intelligence. Her experience in the commercial building sector covers multiple LEED ratings, project scales and advisory roles- which has led her to develop a suite of comprehensive planning & management tools for her projects.  Kathy is managing projects that have adopted the SITES Initiative for ecosystem services and is a Living Building Challenge Ambassador. She is trained in biomimicry and is a 2011 Biomimicry Specialist Certificate Candidate. Austin was selected as one of four cities from around the world to receive the Biomimicry Group’s inaugural Backyard Workshop earlier this year due to Kathy’s training and involvement. She also volunteers much of her time, and is the current Chair of the USGBC National Chapter Steering Committee and Founder of BiomimicryTX. Her biggest reward is marveling at the wonder of nature with her two boys.
