Position Title: Accounting Support
Location: Missoula, Montana or Remote
Start Date: ASAP
FTE: 20 hours/week; 0.50 FTE

This position supports activities of the accounting and finance office by providing administrative support to the financial manager and other department staff.


  • Temporary employee status for six months, with option to move to permanent status
  • Part Time; 20 hours
  • This position would work under B3.8’s current accounting manager


  • General bookkeeping duties including AR and AP, job costing, banking transactions, reconcile accounts, data entry, reconciling staff expense reports, assist in processing payroll and required payroll tax reporting and assisting the financial manager with maintaining complex procedures.
  • Manage client contracts and billing through project management software
  • General clerical duties: answering telephone, meeting and greeting visitors, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
  • General office keeping, e.g. supplies, printing, shipping
  • Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable and accounts receivable and payroll processing
  • Experience in Job Costing/Project accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting techniques and procedures including Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel; ability to create and modify documents using Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Understanding of general payroll procedures and reporting requirements
  • Ability to multitask with ease and professionalism while maintaining attention to detail
  • Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills
