As an innovator, thought leader, and change agent, Amanda communicates biomimicry ideas to cultivate a collaborative network from research, design, engineering, and policy, to the general population and all species on Earth.

Andrew—with his background as a research scientist and educator—is carving a career in corporate sustainability and regeneration. He looks forward to advancing life-friendly chemistry and championing the practice of biomimicry in practical ways that will enable corporations to increasingly create conditions conducive to Life.

Anika is incorporating biomimicry into her work in the decarbonization industry in Houston and with a grassroots plastics repurposing project that she co-leads in her home, Zimbabwe. Going forward, she is eager to create low-cost, biomimetic solutions for improving energy and potable water access in rural parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. Anika is also an aspiring naturalist who finds joy in learning about and connecting with her surrounding ecosystems.

Doménica plans to drive change in the fashion industry by drawing inspiration from Nature’s brilliance to revolutionize the way we create, produce, and consume clothing. She will boldly pioneer a fashion ecosystem that contributes to the well-being of the planet while realizing social and economic benefits, paving the way for a truly regenerative and harmonious relationship between fashion and nature.

Farid comes from the oil and gas industry but has managed to carve out a path that champions—instead of challenges—the resilience of Life. Through his position as a Biomimic at Biomimicry 3.8, he seeks to catalyze the people who design our world to create systems and economies that are in service to all Life.

Fiona works with Nature to shift the way we design our world. She combines her MBA and professional career working in business schools, university management, and research centers in Australia and Europe with a biomimicry lens, to focus on regenerative design and systems change.

Fiona advocates across industry, government, academia, and community organizations for a biomimetic approach to humanity’s current operating system and a lighter footprint on our earth.

Building on 18 years of experience in international immersive experience design, Genell is using the power of storytelling to empower communities and individuals with accessible means of connecting to and learning from the natural world.

Jason is building on his 12-year career in aerospace and mechanical engineering with a journey into biomimicry. He aims to integrate biomimicry principles into additive manufacturing to create a system that enables life-friendly, functional materials and structures, thereby making biomimetic additive manufacturing the standard.

Leigh’s goal is to become a thought-leader for biomimicry in North Carolina. She hopes to work with engineering students at NC State University to inspire innovative approaches to human design in hopes of creating a more sustainable future.

Myshell is working to decriminalize adolescence by creating a training platform for youth defense attorneys and other closely associated stakeholders, based on weaving together the best practices found in nature, the knowledge of indigenous communities, and the voices of justice-involved youth. Her vision is one where disparity, lack of racial awareness, and cultural insensitivity are no longer the longer the norm and children are encouraged to develop and grow in an environment of support and respect.

Nick is pioneering a nature-inspired legacy for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. He is currently pursuing a PhD from Griffith University in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment. There, Nick’s research efforts are evolving Olympic climate action and nature conservation initiatives for the built environment with bio-inspired innovations and nature-based solutions. This is an exciting endeavor for Nick, carrying the biomimicry torch to the Olympics, working to ensure a regenerative legacy for the games, and delivering innovations that reconnect people with place, community, and nature.

Siri is looking forward to launching her own biomimicry consulting firm, Sapience, in her home country of Thailand. With a focus on integrating biomimicry into everyday designs, she aims to bring solutions to life by bringing LIFE to solutions.

Susannah Montgomery is cultivating biomimicry in her position within the architecture firm, Architekton, by helping advance their Sustainable Action Plan to integrate nature’s teachings into the firm’s everyday design process. The whole sustainability team works to define how the firm will measure its impact and design solutions that are in harmony with local ecosystems. Susannah is also teaching Sustainable Building Systems at the School of Architecture where she integrates biomimicry thinking to empower students to be an active part of sustainable innovation in the built environment.
